The founder, Richard Martin, graduated in 1991 from the University of Montreal with a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design. Since graduating from university, he has always worked in his field of study. He began his career as a junior industrial designer for the Canadian Center for Industrial Innovation (1991-1993), a multidisciplinary engineering, design and marketing organization.

From 1993 to 1994, he worked as an industrial designer at Jazzi Design, a manufacturer of residential furniture.

In 1995, Richard Martin joined Techcraft Manufacturing, a manufacturer specializing in television and audio furniture. He assumed an integral role with the company until 2006, holding several key positions including Director of Design and Product Development during his last six years with Techcraft.​

From 2006 to 2007, he was the Research & Development Manager of Vogue Pool Products, a subsidiary of the French group Zodiac. The company manufactures above ground pools.

Within these companies, Richard Martin has developed a complete expertise in industrial design from concept to the commercialized product. He masters the different stages and processes needed to conduct a design project. He is comfortable to work closely with teams from different departments within a company as well as with local or foreign subcontractors. He is known for his ability to identify, analyze and understand manufacturer and consumer specific needs to create products that meet functionality and design aesthetics, while maintaining manufacturing and production cost requirements.

With his solid background, Richard Martin decided, in 2007, to start his own industrial design firm. Since its inception, the company has seen steady growth, domestically and internationally.
